Twenty years without being unemployed and then suddenly facing something like this must be really difficult. Especially when you have a family to support. I can understand why you questioned your decisions. But I hope you don't see everything you have built and contributed as a failure. I am working on my own small projects and sometimes even the technical problems are enough to make me question what I am doing. I can only imagine how much harder it becomes when your livelihood depends on it. I hope things work out with Nostr4 and your HRF grant. Wishing you and your family all the best. Keep building.

Not exactly. I can't remember all the details now but back when I was mining I also did some airdrops, bounties and guerrilla marketing campaigns. I received quite a bit of Terra Luna and other coins from those activities. I had almost forgotten about them until now. 😀

I realized something else today :D

I have been so busy experimenting with my old netbook that I almost forgot my main laptop needed some attention too.

First I upgraded the RAM. Then I discovered that the BIOS battery had died so I replaced it. And now I have just replaced the CPU thermal paste because that was causing problems too.

I guess I was so focused on keeping the old netbook alive that I forgot to take care of the computer I actually use every day. 😊

Sometimes maintaining the hardware takes just as much time as working on the software.

I get that. Sometimes I feel like I should have done more the day before. But then I remind myself that these are projects I started because I enjoy working on them. I don't want to turn my hobbies into another source of stress.

I agree. But the funny thing is that even when I take a break my mind is still stuck on my projects and all the things I haven't finished yet. I keep thinking about bugs I need to fix and features I want to add. So even when I tell myself I am resting it doesn't really feel like rest. 😀

You are right. Every time I solve one problem another one seems to appear. But I am learning quite a lot along the way.

I am still working on SkySigner USB OS and I will definitely share an update here when I get it booting and working properly.

Today was one of those days when I didn't work on any of my projects :D

No coding. No debugging. No fighting with Linux or trying to figure out why something that worked yesterday suddenly stopped working today.

And you know what? It actually feels a little strange.

I have gotten so used to working on something that doing nothing makes me feel like I have forgotten something.

Maybe taking a break is part of the process too.

Lately I have been spending more time with old technology than new technology. I am building a BBS on an old netbook and trying to turn a regular USB stick into a bootable environment for my Nostr signer. Both projects have taught me something. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the hardest to get working properly. Modern technology makes so many things easier. But working with older systems reminds me how much we can still learn from them. And strangely enough I am enjoying the problems almost as much as the progress.

I don't know if I am getting old but old technology and software have been catching my attention more than ever lately. Or maybe I am just trying to find a little piece of my younger days again. 😊
